Study for Patients with Hip Pain - Requirements
- The patient must be willing to come to Miami Beach for initial evaluation to make a final determination of study eligibility
- There is no guarantee they will be eligible
- If eligible, the patient must be willing to return to either clinic for all treatments and follow-up visits.
- Treatments are at no cost to patient
- Patients will know the condition to which they have been randomized
- The patient must meet all inclusion criteria and none of the exclusion criteria for the study to be eligible.
Inclusion Criteria
Determination of eligible subjects will be determined by study coordinator using the following inclusion and exclusion criteria. Inclusion criteria include;
- Voluntary signature of the IRB approved Informed Consent
- Hip pain for minimum 6 months
- Age 18-60
- Failed physiotherapy (minimum 6 weeks treatment)
- Minimum activity level required (defined by Tegner score (5)) May have hip or lumbar spine DJD
- Is independent, ambulatory, and can comply with all post-operative evaluations and visits
Exclusion Criteria
Candidates will be excluded if they meet ANY of the following
- Motor vehicle accident within past 12 months BMI > 35, known cancer, diabetes
- History of hip replacement (either extremity) Active sciatica
- Steroid use > 3 months
- Vulnerable populations (including but not limited to prisoners, minors, pregnant women, mentally ill)
- Currently involved in a health care litigation procedure
- Condition represents a worker’s compensation case
